Providing different traffic and road safety training courses, Autosõit Ltd. was established in the beginning of 2002. Today, the company functions as a modern training center, with branches in Tallinn and Tartu. We wish to contribute to increasing road safety in Estonia through offering interesting and useful skills and knowledge on how to survive in traffic. Defensive driving is the key to a safer future for all of us.

B-category beginner drivers' education

For years, Autosõit Ltd. has provided safe driving courses and courses for emergency vehicle drivers. At these courses, we have unfortunately realized that both emergency vehicle drivers as well as usual drivers have inadequate knowledge and skills in areas that should have been acquired through basic beginner training. Precisely for that reason, we decided to start offering beginner drivers' courses (B-category), keeping in mind the need to improve safety in everyday traffic. In training, we focus heavily on the principles and methods of economic driving - driving defensively means driving safely.

On average, the course lasts for 3 months, containing at least 41 hours of theory and 40 practical driving lessons. Everybody who completes the course is issued a certificate, which allows the holder to take a driving test at the Motor Vehicle Registration Center.

B-category final stage drivers' education

Final stage drivers' courses are completed by drivers who have already had a provisional driver's license for at least one year. The training consists of at least two evaluative driving sessions in the city traffic, a theory lesson (5 hours) and 6 driving lessons on a skid pad (slippery track). The purpose of the final stage driving course is to repeat the knowledge acquired in the beginner course and reinforce the driving practices and principles that increase safety. Throughout the course, the young driver is provided both theory and practical experience on how a vehicle behaves on slippery road, what happens when a driver goes beyond his/her limits of competence or ignores the laws of physics and what the best methods are for avoiding danger on the road. The slippery road driving practice takes place on a special year-round slippery skid track in Tallinn or Tartu. After completing the course, the Motor Vehicle Registration Center will exchange the participant's provisional driver's license for a driver's license.

Safe and slippery driving course

This course is meant for both experienced and beginner drivers. The two-day course contains 8 hours of theoretical lessons and 10 hours of practical driving lessons on a year-round slippery track. The course is made up with a goal to guarantee security in traffic and covers topics on how to avoid getting into a dangerous situation, how to act in danger situations and how to minimize the harmful results in case of an accident. First and foremost, guaranteeing traffic safety requires skills to prevent and foresee dangers. Avoiding danger is much easier than surviving it.

The purpose of this course is not to make participants into race car drivers, but to provide knowledge on dangers lurking in everyday traffic and how to act in possible danger situations in order to avoid the worst consequences.

The practical driving part of the course includes practicing desired driving behavior in most often occurring danger situations like wildlife on the road (double lane change avoidance maneuver), obstacle avoidance with and without breaking, breaking in turn and skidding.

Alarm/emergency vehicle (police, rescue, ambulance) driver training

This training is provided in accordance to the regulations in force in Estonia. The training lasts for 31 hours and a certificate of completion is provided to participants. The holder of the certificate can drive an emergency vehicle in Estonia. We also provide supplementary training for emergency vehicle drivers as well as training on escorting VIP vehicles.

Professional driver training

A professional driver's vocational training has to be completed by all people who drive busses or taxis and the drivers of C-category vehicles. The scope of the training for a driver who has worked in his profession for over 3 years is 35 hours.

Eco-Driving

This one-day training allows the participants to acquire defensive and safe driving style. A driver using eco-driving methods can save 15-20% of fuel and decrease the probability of a traffic accident by 35-40%. The training consists of lectures and driving practice. It does not take any extra expenditure from the driver to use the taught skills - all that's needed is the desire to drive more economically, safely and comfortably. Using the methods of economic driving reduces your costs on the vehicle, helps save time and makes traffic safer.

Traffic regulator training

Traffic regulators are needed in everyday traffic when the regular traffic flow is temporarily interrupted and needs rearranging. The smooth flow of the traffic as well as the safety of the regulator and everybody involved in these situations depends on the traffic regulator's skillful activity. On the 2-day traffic regulator course, participants acquire the basic rules and skills of traffic regulation. The training consists of both lectures and practical sessions and participants acquire knowledge and skills necessary for traffic regulation.

Slippery driving instructor training

In this course, driving instructors acquire knowledge and skills necessary to instruct their students on how to drive on slippery road. The training is provided jointly with Tallinn College of Engineering and it lasts 5 days.

Children's traffic behavior

We offer preparatory courses for teachers and other people working with children so that in the future they would be able to provide interesting and useful traffic training for children. We also carry out various traffic-related courses and training for children, for example how to behave in traffic when it's dark, car-speed-pedestrian, safely to school, etc.
